The Apostle Paul’s faith did not waiver when he and those he discipled were separated by distance. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Php 1:6). Paul’s confidence was continually in Jesus and His ability to shepherd His sheep without Paul’s active presence in their lives. It is a good thing, though painful, when those you disciple no longer need you because you taught them to trust and depend upon Jesus, and Him alone.
