The Apostle Paul’s desire was full identity with Jesus, “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead” (Php 3:10-11). Paul did not want to hold back from Jesus any part of his past or future, but desired to obtain all that God had prepared for him to enjoy. However, he confessed, “Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus” (vs 12). This is your example for Christian maturity.
