James Devotional 18

The Apostle James uses Rahab as his final illustration of her faith as revealed with results or evidence. “You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?” Rahab hid the Jewish spies under stalks of flax which she had laid in order on the roof (Jos 2:4-7). Likewise, “For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead” (Jas 2:24-26). Biblical faith is not passive, but an active trust in Jesus Christ with the expectation that He will work His will in, through and with your participation!
