Once you understand the basics of being a disciple of Christ it is observable that fleshly pride often takes over and you tend to become mouthy and judgmental. “If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.” However, true discipleship is revealed as, “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world” (Jas 1:26-27). This fulfills the second great commandment, “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mrk 12:31).
