The Apostle Paul identifies your ongoing spiritual battle. “For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.” You and other Christians naturally default to the flesh when facing new circumstances rather than entrusting yourself to Jesus’ leadership. “But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the [self-performance and requirements of the] Law” (Gal 5:17-18).
