The Apostle Paul explains God’s promise to Abraham. “Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,’ as referring to many, but rather to one, ‘And to your seed,’ that is, Christ”. This promise was made much earlier than the Law of Moses. Paul continues, “What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise” (Gal 3:16-17). God’s promise to you of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ also frees you from the Law’s demands into the ongoing freedom of grace in Christ.
