The Apostle John addresses the problem of false teachers that lead astray many Christians. With the mass media available today his warning is even more appropriate. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 Joh 4:1). You may test the teaching by asking where does Jesus Christ fit within the teaching of the prophet (teacher). If the answer is vague or negative, avoid it!
