The Apostle John declares that his purpose for writing is that you may have mutual fellowship with him and the other disciples “What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ” (1 Joh 1:3). He is revealing an intimate relationship – not just an intellectual assent.
