The Apostle John states that “the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil” (1 Joh 3:8). Jesus bore your sins on His body and paid for all sin by His death, burial and resurrection. John continues, “No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” (vs. 9). Jesus also overcame the power of the devil and his works as the Lamb of God (Rev 17:14).
