Ephesians Devotional 51

The Apostle Paul understands conflict between your children and you — their father. “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Eph 6:4). In your desire to be a good father having children that are obedient and well behaved, it is possible for you to come across to the child as unreasonable. This often causes anger. Paul’s admonition to you as the father is to participate with Jesus as He leads in the discipline and instruction of your child. When Jesus leads, His Holy Spirit will enable the child to cooperate with you.
