You and I were alienated from God because of our sin, but “In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will” (vs 5). God took the initiative to save you and make you His adopted son out of His love and kindness. God only has one predestined plan for mankind and that is faith in the salvation that He procured through His death, burial and resurrection. He wants you to be with Him in heaven for all eternity. What love! The destination of hell is the consequence and the choice of those who turn away from Him, His love and His salvation.
