The Apostle James gives an example of an effectual prayer offered by faith by a man just like you. “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit” (Jas 5:17-18). You might say “I am not a powerful man of God like Elijah. My prayers are not as powerful as his.” It was not Elijah or his prayers that were powerful. He was petitioning God to do what God prompted him to pray for. It was God, not Elijah who stopped the rain and it was God who started the rain again. Elijah was God’s instrument at that time. Jesus desires you to be His available instrument also.
