The Apostle Paul identifies the privilege of you as a disciple to share materially with the one who discipled you. “The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.” Paul continues, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh [old nature] will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life” (Gal 6:6-8). Your fleshly temptation is to take care of yourself first and then give God what, if anything is left over. However, Jesus deserves the first fruits, not the leftovers.
