The Apostle Paul says that it is pleasing to God for you the Christian to be, “bearing fruit in every good work” (Col 1:1). The only fruit your old nature is able to yield is, “to bear fruit for death” (Rom 7:5). This spiritual fruit may only come by your abiding in Christ. He produces His own fruit in, through and with your cooperation; “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” (Jon 15:5).
